Cremona House was established at Perry Road by George Darbey in 1879. He was one of the best professional violin makers and restorers of his time.

Cremona House is an historic and unique building and has been in continuous use as a violin shop since it first opened. Over a hundred years later and well into its second century it has become one of the leading violin, viola, cello dealing and repairing establishments in the country.

Trained as a violin maker and restorer at the Welsh School of Violin making, Richard Bristow has over the past twenty years gained an extensive knowledge of the violin trade, which enables him to present a large and varied stock of instruments and bows. As a member of a talented and professional team of restorers, his dedicated skill and enthusiasm, ensures that Cremona House continues to offer assurance and quality to musicians the world over from the very young beginners to experienced professionals.
